Verb Forms and Do

1.  I don't know what the Aux rules are now, so

(a)  Write out what you think they are (or what you think they ought to be).

(b)  Write out what you think the form rules are.


2.  There is a fourth category of Auxiliary verb:

Category D:

	do

Revise the grammar to include Category D in the right place.

Do we need any new form rules?

3.  We might consider an alternative grammar in which the auxiliary verbs
are introduced by a recursive rule:

	VP -> V VP

Under this theory of auxiliaries, how would you incorporate the Aux 'do'?

How would the required order of the Auxiliaries be enforced?

4.  Where is Tense?
