Verb Forms and Do

In class we have seen that Verbs (other than 'be')
have just five forms:

base		break	catch	take	throw	put
3sgprs		breaks	catches	takes	throws	puts
past		broke	caught	took	threw	put
prsprt		breaking ...
pstprt		broken	caught	taken	thrown	put

And we have three categories of Auxiliary verb:

Category M:

	will	would
	can	could
	shall	should
	may	might
	must

Category H:

	have

Category B:

	be

Which are now incorporated into the VP rule:

	VP -> (M)(H)(B) V ...


1.  Write the rules governing the forms of Verbs.

HINT:  The form of a Verb is determined by the thing immediately
to its left.

2.  There is a fourth category of Auxiliary verb:

Category D:

	do

Revise the grammar to include Category D in the right place.

3.  We have considered an alternative grammar in which the auxiliary verbs
are introduced by a recursive rule:

	VP -> V VP

Under this theory of auxiliaries, how would you incorporate the Aux 'do'?
