Assignment 23: Pre-Final

This is the first part of the final, and is due with the rest of the final
on Friday December 4.

For each of the following sentences, show carefully how it is derived,
or if it is ungrammatical, why it is not generated.  Make sure you justify
any assumptions you need about subcategorization or type of lexical items.
If you need to modify the grammar, do it explicitly.

(1)   I dare you to try to take away that gorilla's banana.

(2)   Is it clear that the pigs want out?

(3)   Bob was an asshole to offer Shelley pig.

(4)   There has to be a reason for tabs needing to be kept on the leaders.
