Linguistics 55: Syntactic Structures

Spring Quarter 2009

MWF, 8:00 - 9:15 AM, Soc Sci II 071

This course is an introduction to the study of syntactic structures in natural human languages. The work for the course consists of homework problems assigned at the rate of about two per week, plus two week-long take-home exams. The problems and exams exercise observation and analysis of linguistic data and the construction and testing of syntactic theories.
