Syllabus Linguistics 221 -- Syntax A Fall Quarter 2011 Course website: http://ucsc.edu/~hank/221.html TTH 2 - 3:45 PM The Cave Jorge Hankamer Office: 264 Stevenson Office hours email: hank@ucsc.edu M 11-12,W 12-11 The primary work for this course is a series of homework problems designed to illuminate central theoretical issues in contemporary syntax and provide a somewhat deeper exposure to the key phenomena than may have been encountered in undergraduate courses. There will probably also be a bit of reading, usually after the fact. You can expect about one or two written assignments per week, including a couple of squibs, and a final paper which may or may not be on a set topic.
