(6) Since there isn't any other way to get money, the fees have to increase. (7) We know that Harvey will feed the pigs if there is enough time. (8) We know that if there is enough time, Harvey will feed the pigs. In particular, what are 'if', 'because', and 'since'? Are the clauses starting with 'if', 'because', and 'since' specifiers, complements, or adjuncts? Where do they sit in the structure? Do we need a new movement Xn? 2. Are these clauses islands?
