Show how the following two sentences are generated by your grammar.

   (1)  Have the monkeys been fed their bananas today?
   (2)  Who was this article on the origin of bananas written by?

II. More interesting properties of WHQ movement

We need a rule to sometimes delete the complementizer `that`:

   (3)  I think that Paul is lying.
   (4)  I think Paul is lying.
   (5)  That Paul is lying is obvious.
   (6) *Paul is lying is obvious.
   (7)  It is obvious that Paul is lying.
   (8)  It is obvious Paul is lying.
   (9)  The facts prove that Paul is lying.
   (10)  The facts prove Paul is lying.
   (11)  That Paul is lying is proved by the facts.
   (12) *Paul is lying is proved by the facts.

Formulate an appropriate rule.  Discuss how it interacts with other rules.

Now consider the following.

   (13)  What do you think the dwarves have been saying?
   (14)  How far did Bill claim his dog's fleas can swim?
   (15)  Whose car can we assume the cops will expect the princess
         to be riding in?
   (16)  Who can we assume the cops will expect to be riding in my car?
   (17)  Who do you think has been eating my porridge?
   (18)  Do you think they'll ever tell us who they were hoping to persuade
	 to wash himself?
   (19)  What Bill thought he was going to frighten the gorilla with
	 is a mystery to me.
   (20)	 It is a mystery to me
	 what Bill thought he was going to frighten the gorilla with.

If your formulation of WHQ Movement does not permit the generation of these
sentences, fix it so that it does.  Show the derivations of a couple of them.
Discuss anything interesting.

   (21)  Which book did you find the recipe in?
   (22)  In which book did you find the recipe?
   (23)  The government specifies the height of the lettering on the covers
         of these reports.
   (24)  Which reports does the government specify the height of the lettering
         on the covers of?
   (25)  On the covers of which reports does the government specify the height
         of the lettering?
