Read Aissen and Perlmutter 1976: Clause Reduction in Spanish.
The analysis is developed within the framework of Relational Grammar,
but I think the paper is pretty clear about what everything means.
One thing that might be useful for you to know is that Equi is an
old-fashioned term for Control.  We'll probably be discussing this
paper in sections.
